Welcome to DockStar Marine Systems
Nearly all floating boat docks endure stress 24/7 and are constructed of materials that guarantee early failure. Steel rusts and wood degrades from constant exposure to water, insects, and sunlight. Even pressure-treated wood walers and concrete, undergo irreversible degradation, leaching toxins into our ecosystem, leaving an unsafe, unusable dock system that must be replaced at a high cost for the dock owner.
Introducing DockStar's unique state-of-the-art aluminum marina system. Our innovative designs and engineering meet or exceed State and Federal requirements, providing a more robust, durable, longer-lasting system. The use of aluminum also provides a naturally occurring non-toxic, eco-friendly corrosion-resistant barrier, protecting your DockStar Marine System from the harsh marine environment
Innovative Design and Engineering
DockStar has numerous designs and proprietary components, including but not limited to the interlocking mainframe structures, or the interlocking canopy posts and upper deck assemblies. Our 9" mainframe dock assemblies offer unmatched strength, in rigid or flexible interlocking connections — eliminating all structural bolting of mainframe components. These novel designs eliminate bolt pattern stress failures and squeaking, securing mainframe structural assemblies, and eliminating the structural failures associated with other dock designers/builders. We also utilize interlocking lower & upper canopy post connections, and upper deck assemblies with engineered interlocking designs.
Yes, these new designs are exclusive to DockStar, the most durable system on the market. The backbone of our system is the exclusive use of our 9" mainframe extrusion, which has been designed and engineered for superior strength, incorporating a 7.5" structural I-beam, and a double-hollow rectangle within the mainframe structure. These proprietary designs increase structural integrity and minimize torsional twisting.
Corrosion Resistant Barrier
Known as the "Metal of the Sea" of the modern age. Aluminum is the obvious material of choice, with its excellent corrosion resistance, great strength, high durability, and natural non-toxic properties, offering unmatched longevity. All DockStar mainframe and assembly components are produced using an aluminum extrusion process. As the extruded mainframe and assembly components exit the extrusion process, the metal comes into contact with an oxidizing medium such as atmospheric oxygen or water, and alumina oxide film forms on any exposed surface.
Aluminum owes its excellent corrosion resistance to the presence of this permanent film of naturally occurring oxide that consists of alumina, the corrosion resistance of aluminum depends upon this natural oxide film. This extremely thin but dense film provides a barrier between the aluminum and the surrounding marine environment. The alumina oxide film is more durable than the aluminum itself thus protecting the underlying aluminum structure.
This protective film is protecting your dock structure and assembly components with its own natural, non-toxic, corrosion-resistant barrier from the harsh marine environment. This corrosion resistance of aluminum in marine environments greatly reduces maintenance costs and provides increased property value for the owners of a
DockStar Marine System.
Aluminum's Sustainability
Today, aluminum is a big part of the solution, it is recognized as one of the most sustainable construction materials. This element is the second-most abundant metallic element in Earth's crust - some 8 percent of Earth's crust by weight. It is a vital material that keeps the modern world moving. As Americans rely more and more on aluminum, it is increasingly the metal of choice. Not only is it naturally non-toxic, but of the most commonly recycled materials, aluminum is the only material that is infinitely recyclable. Aluminum has a life cycle that few materials can match.
Yes, your DockStar Marine System will be designed and built site-specific for your waterfront project. We are the exclusive manufacturer and contractor located right here in Southern California, contributing to our local economy, creating local jobs, and eliminating costly cross-country transportation. Aluminum's unique combination of eco-friendly, corrosion-resistant properties, and high durability, are extremely important to DockStar's business model. Our marina system will benefit the people and the planet as we are purpose-driven contributing to a more sustainable future.
